Understand that comfort levels vary

Every teacher likely has a different level of comfort with this issue and the conversations it can elicit. We had some teachers that were very open and encouraged even the most difficult conversations to happen in their classrooms. We had other teachers that became very uncomfortable at even the slightest reference to intimacy.

I recommend having conversations early on with every teacher you’re working with to assess exactly what they’re comfortable with and exactly how they would like any difficult questions that arise to be handled. This is particularly important if your team members will be the ones doing the teaching. You want to be respectful of the teacher whose classroom you are using. The earlier and more clearly you can set expectations with those teachers, the more likely you are to maintain their support and trust as vital partners.
